My name is Gonzalo Ventura and I’ll be covering the San Francisco Giants minor league system for Prospect1500 moving forward. For years, Prospects1500 has been my go-to resource for the 30-team fantasy leagues that I compete in, providing a helpful guide to prospects all around the league that you don’t normally see listed anywhere. After years of following the site I’m excited to being joining as a contributor in hopes of bringing comprehensive coverage of the Giants farm system and how it may impact both the major league roster and fantasy rosters alike.

I am a life-long Giants fan who had the misfortune of growing up in the hostile territory of southern California. As a result I know way too much about the Los Angeles Dodgers, have spent way too much time at Chavez Ravine, and haven’t spent nearly enough time at Oracle Park. Of course this also means that I grew up watching and learning about the Dodgers organization, watching as year after year their player development pipeline turned out major league contributors and developed shiny prospects for trade. The Giants system isn’t really to that point yet, but it has made great strides and if the system can take that next step forward the next few years could be very exciting for prospect enthusiasts.
