While baseball as we know and love it came to a screeching halt in March, many baseball fans turned their attention to the card collecting side of the sport, affectionately known to many on social media as #thehobby, to get their fix. For many, it was a time to go through collections and maybe find that hidden gem that was sitting around. The card grading side of the hobby also took off as PSA and BGS saw record numbers of submissions.

But the one thing that many looked forward to was the release of 2020 Bowman. For those who may be unfamiliar with Bowman cards, it’s a checklist with MLB players along with young prospects. Bowman sets have a life of their own and often produce some mind-boggling sales numbers for players who have yet to take an MLB swing. This set produces what many in the hobby consider players’ “first” rookie cards and are often valued much higher than the traditional Topps flagship rookie cards. They are actually prospect cards so don’t actually let that confuse you with a player’s true rookie card once he’s made or set to make his MLB debut. This year’s Bowman offering saw the inclusion of uber-prospect Jasson Dominguez and had hobby enthusiasts eagerly awaiting its arrival.
