Paul Woodin (New York Yankees)

Hello everybody. My name is Paul Woodin and I’m excited to be covering the New York Yankees for Prospects1500. I’m 33 years old and have a wife and 2 children, my son age 3 and my daughter 9. We live up in Groton, Connecticut. I currently work at Electric Boat as a designer for Navy submarines. My wife and I actually got married at Dodd Stadium the same place I proposed to her during a game. Dodd Stadium is the home of the Connecticut Tigers short season affiliate of the Detroit Tigers. We are also pretty lucky to live within one hour of three minor league stadiums and an independent league team as well! My wife and I plan to attend every MLB park – at least a new one every year!

Growing up in Connecticut most people like the Yankees or Red Sox, so I became a Yankees fan really young because I liked Don Mattingly and Derek Jeter. There was something about the way both guys carried themselves on the field with all out effort. They were both very professional on and off the field. Then I became a Robinson Cano fan. So I really look forward to bringing everyone the up and coming prospects of my favorite team for Prospects1500!

I also collect sports cards and have been doing so my whole life. I love the hobby. I focus on collecting baseball and football cards right now. The 1993 Topps baseball set has to my favorite with Derek Jeter’s rookie card and the Topps gold and black gold inserts. I also collect autographs at the baseball parks I go to and though the mail. This has expanded my love for the hobby as I’ve grown older.

Thanks everyone for taking some time to look through Prospects1500. I hope you enjoy my coverage of the 27 time World Series champions! If you have any questions, want to chat about sports, cards or autographs, just let me know. You can follow me on Twitter @Paulwoodin1.
