Jake Wiener (Rays)

Hey everybody! My name is Jake Wiener, and I am thrilled to be the new face of the Tampa Bay Rays’ minor league organization here at Prospects1500. I am 25 years old and I work in the sports science industry. I went to college in the Hudson Valley, and graduated from the State University of New York at New Paltz with a Biology major and History minor. Baseball has always been a prominent part of my life. I grew up around baseball and got my first true exposure playing baseball on Long Island, New York. Fun fact: I played Little League baseball with Seattle Mariners newly-acquired stud pitching prospect Justin Dunn.

When I wasn’t playing for an organized team, I attended baseball camps during the offseason. These baseball camps not only made me a better player and teammate, but also sparked my interest in becoming an active student of the game. I began to appreciate baseball at a deeper level, and as a result I became more involved in baseball analysis and research.

Sifting through the generational studs, hidden gems and first-year players that comprise the minors, it’s obvious there are so many talented players waiting for their opportunity to make an impact for their respective Major League clubs. The Tampa Bay Rays’ farm system has a plethora of talent and young ‘ballers who are ready to take the baseball universe by storm. It is my ultimate goal to bring you closer to the minor league action, and get you as excited about these young guys as I am.

Thank you for checking out Prospects1500, and taking the time to learn more about me. I sincerely look forward to providing you with the best of Minor League Baseball, and more specifically the Rays’ minor league affiliates. I can’t wait to interact with y’all about the game we love. 1. Jake,

I’m joining a new dynasty league. First, we pick a major league franchise. I’m picking the Rays. Then we can take up to 10 major leaguers and 20 minor leaguers. Who would you recommend I take for 10/20?

    thanks,

    jeff
