April 27th Update: 40-50
I’m providing some updates on the guys I listed in my Top 50 listing of players I ranked 40-50. Brief updates on their performance so far and where they’ve started 2017.

#40
Max McDowell, C
DOB 01/12/1994 (22.364)
McDowell is splitting time behind the plate with Mitch Ghelfi at high A Carolina. He’s about on age for the league and not hitting (.200/.229/.244 in 48 PA), but the Brewers will be looking at how he can progress as a catcher.

#41
Michael Reed, OF
DOB 11/18/1992 (24.051)
Reed got sent to AA Biloxi so big timers Brinson/Cordell/Phillips could get their at bats in Colorado Springs. Reed has not hit so far but is getting on base at a .395 clip. Reed is young enough to get a look if he can still perform, but the writing is on the wall after being sent down a level from 2016.

#42
Damien Magnifico RHP
DOB 5/24/1991 (25.229)
Magnifico was traded to the Orioles for some international signing bonus money.

#43
Garrett Cooper, 1B/OF
DOB: 12/25/1990 (26.014)
Cooper is AAA Colorado Springs everyday first-baseman. He’s OK (.303/.352/.485 in 71 PA) but not a guy you want as your MLB level. Thankfully Eric Thames will keep the Brewers from getting desperate.

#44
Zach Clark, OF
DOB: 12/05/1995 (21.034)
Clark has not played yet in 2017. Should get to low A at some point, but not to start the year.

#45
Angel Ventura, SP
DOB 4/7/1993 (23.276)
Ventura started in 2017 where he was in 2016 in AA Biloxi. Had a weird 1st outing with 11 unearned runs and not too impressive overall but Brewer’s appear to be giving him a shot this year as a starter.

#46
Trey Supak RHP
DOB 5/31/96 (20.222)
Back in the Midwest League to start the year in low A Wisconsin, he’s doing much better there this time around. 2.79 ERA in 19.1IP with 22 SO’s and just 11 hits allowed.

#47
Pablo Abreu
DOB 5/11/1996 (20.242)
No pro at bats. Should play DSL later this summer.

#48
Jose Sibrian, C
DOB: 8/24/1998
No at bats in 2017. Will play DSL later this summer.

#49
Jean Carlos Carmona, SS
DOB: ?
No pro at bats. Should play DSL later this summer.

#50
Nate Orf, 2B/3B/OF
DOB 02/01/1990 (26.342)
Orf is playing second- and third- base in AAA Colorado Springs, and not hitting at all so far with .200/.275/.286 slash line. Will have tough time getting to Milwaukee this year, even if he does start to hit.
