Each week during the Arizona Fall League season we pick the hitting and pitching prospects who, in our opinion, had the best week. The team awards the Prospects of the Week hitters and pitchers, while also presenting other names that are just as deserving of POTW honors. Feel free to reply in the comments with any player who deserves to be mentioned that may not have made our cut.

Any issues with this week’s POTW? Did we miss anyone deserving? Hit us up and set us straight! As always, tweet us @Prospects1500 when you see a great performance that warrants consideration for Prospect of the Week. Enjoy, and make sure you’re keeping an eye out for these prospects in your dynasty leagues.

HITTER: Edouard Julien, 2B (Twins #16)
Glendale Desert Dogs (4 G, .462/.611/1.154/1.765, 6 H, 3 2B, 2 HR, 5 RBI, 6 R, 5 BB)
Julien’s phenomenal 2022 season has continued at the Arizona Fall League, as he’s been able to consistently get on base, make contact at the plate, and put the ball in play. Over his last week, the 23-year-old second baseman went 4/10 with two home runs. For the tournament itself, he has a .364/.544/.636/1.180 slash line, while demonstrating why he’s one of the most intriguing prospects not just within the Twins’ farm system, but in all of baseball. Heston Kjerstad, OF (Orioles #8)
Scottsdale Scorpions (4 G, .412/.444/.647/1.091, 7 H, 2B, HR, 4 RBI, R, BB)
Johan Rojas, OF (Phillies #2)
Surprise Saguaros (4 G, .357/.438/.643/1.081, 5 H, 2 2B, 3B, 4 RBI, 3 R, 2 BB, 7 SB)

Tyler Hardman, 1B (Yankees #44)
Mesa Solar Sox (4 G, .294/.333/.765/1.098, 5 H, 3 2B, 3B, HR, 3 RBI, 4 R, BB)

PITCHER: Colton Gordon, LHP (Astros NR)
Surprise Saguaros (1 GS, 4 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 4 K)
Gordon was drafted in 2021 and underwent Tommy John surgery just two months later delaying his organizational debut. That debut came in June of this past season in the Complex League. After six starts in Florida, he was promoted to Single-A Fayetteville, then on to High-A Asheville in late August. In total, he threw 53.2 innings with a 2.35 ERA, .80 WHIP, 13.1 K/9, and 1.3 BB/9. He is in he AFL to get innings and continue building up the consistency of his four pitch mix. He is definitely one to keep an eye on as a potential 2023 breakout pitcher.

Joey Wentz, LHP (Tigers #13)
Salt River Rafters (1 GS, 4 IP, H, 0 R, 2 BB, 3 K)
