We are back with part two of our end-of-season consensus farm system rankings as we roll out the top-15. Reminder, this is a consensus ranking from ten of the contributors here at Prospects1500. For more content on these rankings check out episode 133 of Futures Focus.
15: Athletics (High rank of 11/Low of 19)
Top 5 hitters: SS Leo De Vries, 3B Tommy White, OF Henry Bolte, OF Devin Taylor, C Daniel Susac
Top pitchers: LHP Gage Jump, LHP Jamie Arnold, RHP Braden Nett, RHP Henry Baez, RHP Steven Echavarria
Others to watch: OF Gavin Turley, OF Junior Perez, IF Joshua Kuroda-Grauer, RHP Mason Barnett, OF Rodney Green Jr
Summary: The Athletics plan to open the 2028 season in Las Vegas. Whether or not that team is a legitimate contender or not remains to be seen. @TheRealNaClown believes the core of the offense will be there with Nick Kurtz, Jacob Wilson, Tyler Soderstrom and Brent Rooker likely to be joined by superstar in the making Leo De Vries. The question is will they have the pieces on the pitching side?
14: Chicago White Sox (High rank of 10/Low of 20)
Top hitters: OF Braden Montgomery, SS Billy Carlson, SS Caleb Bonemer, 2B Jeral Perez, SS Kyle Lodise
Top pitchers: LHP Noah Schultz, LHP Hagen Smith, RHP Tanner McDougal, LHP Christian Oppor, RHP Peyton Pallette
Others to watch: IF Sam Antonacci, OF Jaden Fauske, RHP Jairo Iriarte, 3B Bryan Ramos, SS Alexander Albertus
Summary: @DET_Guru_Kurt believes that there is much more to the White Sox system than the southpaws at the top. They have done a great job of drafting and developing hitters of late. Case in point, Sam Antonacci carried a breakout 2025 season into the Arizona Fall League where he sported a 1.046 OPS and stole 11 bases in 19 games.
13: Miami Marlins (High rank of 9/Low of 18)
Top hitters: SS Aiva Arquette, C Joe Mack, SS Starlyn Caba, OF Cam Cannarella, OF Kemp Alderman
Top pitchers: LHP Thomas White, LHP Robby Snelling, RHP Kevin Defrank, RHP Noble Meyer, RHP Peyton Fosher
Others to watch: OF Luis Cova, SS Andrew Salas, OF Dillon Head, OF Brandon Compton, OF Fenwick Trimble
Summary: The Marlins continue to crank out top of the rotation quality arms. Thomas White and Robby Snelling look to be the next two examples. They have hit on their trades recently as well. Jacob Marsee (Padres), Graham Pauley (Padres), Kyle Stowers (Orioles), Connor Norby (Orioles) and Xavier Edwards (Rays) all came over in 2024 and are all starters for the big league club. Joe Mack looks like their catcher of the future and the potential in Aiva Arquette could add to that already solid young core. Better days are ahead for the Marlins.
T-11: St Louis Cardinals (High rank of 7/Low of 15)
Top hitters: SS JJ Wetherholt, C Rainiel Rodriguez, C Leonardo Bernal, OF Joshua Baez, SS Jesus Baez
Top pitchers: LHP Liam Doyle, LHP Quinn Mathews, RHP Tink Hence, LHP Ixan Henderson, LHP Braden Davis
Others to watch: C Jimmy Crooks, SS Yairo Padilla, CI Deniel Ortiz, RHP Tanner Franklin, OF Ryan Mitchell
Summary: Whether you call it a “rebuild” or a “reset” the time is now for the Cardinals to go with the kids. The middle of the field could be set with Wetherholt and Winn on the dirt and Victor Scott in center. Blaze Jordan has hit well since coming over and Joshua Baez had one heck of a resurgence in 2025. On the mound Doyle, Mathews and Hence are all about ready. Like it or not Cards fans, it is time.
T-11: Boston Red Sox (High rank of 6/Low of 15)
Top hitters: SS Franklin Arias, OF Jhostynxon Garcia, SS Dorian Soto, SS Mikey Romero, OF Justin Gonzales
Top pitchers: LHP Payton Tolle, RHP Kyson Witherspoon, LHP Connelly Early, LHP Brandon Clarke, RHP Luis Perales
Others to watch: RHP Juan Valera, 3B Louis Andujar, RHP Yordanny Monegro, OF Miguel Bleis, 2B Yoeilin Cespedes
Summary: This is a system that traded three top prospects in the offseason and had Kristian Campbell, Marcelo Mayer and Roman Anthony all graduate this season. They still come in as one of the better systems in baseball and are showing that they belong in the conversation as one of the best at developing pitching. The Red Sox are good and they are young.
10: Baltimore Orioles (High rank of 5/Low of 13)
Top hitters: C Samuel Basallo, OF Nate George, OF Dylan Beavers, C/OF Ike Irish, SS Wehiwa Aloy,
Top pitchers: RHP Esteban Mejia, RHP Trey Gibson, RHP Juaron Watts-Brown, LHP Boston Bateman, LHP Luis De Leon
Others to watch: OF Slater De Brun, OF Enrique Bradfield, OF Austin Overn, C Caden Bodine, RHP Tyson Neighbors
Summary: The Orioles are another team that should be much lower on this list. Seven of the top-10 prospects on our list to start the 2024 season have either graduated or been traded. So how have they managed to the remain a top-10 system? By killing it at the trade deadline last season and in the draft. Even with Basallo and Beavers likely to graduate early next season there is still plenty left in the tank.
9: Minnesota Twins (High rank of 2/Low of 19)
Top hitters: OF Walker Jenkins, SS Kaelen Culpepper, C Eduardo Tait, OF Emmanuel Rodriguez, MI Kyle DeBarge
Top pitchers: LHP Dasan Hill, RHP Charlee Soto, LHP Kendry Rojas, RHP Riley Quick, RHP C.J. Culpepper
Others to watch: OF Gabriel Gonzalez, OF Brandon Winokur, SS Marek Houston, OF Kyler Fedko, LHP Connor Prielipp
Summary: Outside of another solid year from Joe Ryan and a career year from Byron Buxton, not much went well at the major league level last year. Luke Keaschall might have given Twins fans a hint of things to come as they look to their prospects for hope. Walker Jenkins looks like an All-Star. Emmanuel Rodriguez has massive power potential if he can make enough contact. Gabriel Gonzalez and Kalen Culpepper look like solid big league regulars. Do you like 6’5″ lefties that throw in the upper-90’s? Dasan Hill will check that box.
8: Tampa Bay Rays (High rank of 3/Low of 12)
Top hitters: OF Theo Gillen, OF Aidan Smith, SS Carson Williams, 1B Xavier Isaac, SS Daniel Pierce
Top pitchers: RHP Santiago Suarez, RHP Ty Johnson, RHP TJ Nichols, RHP Gary Gill Hill, RHP Brody Hopkins
Others to watch: RHP Yoniel Curet, OF Brendan Summerhill, C Dominic Keegan, 2B Jadher Areinamo, OF Brailer Guerrero
Summary: The Rays do what the Rays do. They draft well. They develop well, Heck, they even trade well. Brody Hopkins, acquired in the Arozarena deal, took huge steps forward this year. Ty Johnson, acquired in the Isaac Paredes deal, was their Pitching Prospect of the Year. Even superstar Junior Caminero was acquired from the Guardians. The Rays are competitive every year because they just do it better than the rest.
7: Cleveland Guardians (High rank of 4/Low of 20)
Top hitters: OF Chase DeLauter, 2B Travis Bazzana, IF Angel Genao, 1B Ralphy Velazquez, C Cooper Ingle
Top pitchers: LHP Parker Messick, RHP Khal Stephen, RHP Braylon Doughty, LHP Caden Favors, RHP Austin Peterson
Others to watch: RHP Joey Oakie , 2B Juan Brito, OF Jaison Chourio, SS Welbyn Francisca, OF Jace LaViolette, OF Juneiker Caceres
Summary: The injury bug was unkind to several of the Guardians top prospects in 2025. Jaison Chourio saw his production decline significantly after wrist and shoulder ailments, Juan Brito lost significant time to thumb surgery and Andrew Walters went down to injury as well two appearances after his call-up. All was not lost as Ralphy Velazquez, Angel Genao and Braylon Doughty all took significant steps forward.
6: New York Mets (High rank of 4/Low of 10)
Top hitters: OF Jett Williams, OF Carson Benge, OF A.J. Ewing, 3B Jacob Reimer, 1B Ryan Clifford
Top pitchers: RHP Jonah Tong, RHP Brandon Sproat, RHP Nolan McLean, RHP Will Watson, RHP Jack Wenninger, RHP Christian Scott
Others to watch: SS Elian Pena, OF Nick Morabito, 2B Mitch Voit, C Chris Suero, LHP Jonathan Santucci
Summary: This list is going to look a lot different his time next year. Pitchers Tong, McLean and Sprout have all made their debut and barring injury will all graduate early in the season. Jett Williams, Carson Benge and Ryan Clifford have little left to prove in the minors. Will it be enough to supplement what the organization feels is a playoff caliber major league team? Or do they move some of these names to get what they need?
5: Pittsburgh Pirates (High rank of 4/Low of 13)
Top hitters: SS/OF Konnor Griffin, OF Edward Florentino, MI Termarr Johnson, 1B Esmerlyn Valdez, SS Wyatt Sanford, C Rafael Flores
Top pitchers: RHP Bubba Chandler, RHP Seth Hernandez, LHP Hunter Barco, RHP Khristian Curtis, RHP Thomas Harrington, RHP Wilber Dotel
Others to watch: SS Sammy Stafura, RHP Antwone Kelly, 3B Murf Gray, CI Yordany De Los Santos, RHP Jeter Martinez
Summary: An arm like Paul Skenes comes around once in a generation. The Pirates need to go all in while they have him. Chandler and Barco in addition to a returning Jared Jones should give them plenty of pitching to build around. As soon as they are ready they need to get Konnor Griffen, Termarr Johnson and Esmerlyn Valdez in Pittsburgh. The only thing standing in their way are the two teams at the top of this list.
4: Seattle Mariners (High rank of 1/Low of 16, 2 first place votes)
Top hitters: SS Colt Emerson, C Harry Ford, MI Michael Arroyo, OF Lazaro Montes, IF Felnin Celesten, OF Jonny Farmelo
Top pitchers: LHP Kade Anderson, RHP Ryan Sloan, RHP Jurrangelo Cijntje, RHP Taylor Dollard, LHP Mason Peters
Others to watch: OF Yorger Bautista, SS Tai Peete, 3B Luis Suisbel, C Luke Stevenson, SS Nick Becker
Summary: The good news: the Mariners have players on MLB Pipelines top-100 list. The bad news: there is a decent drop off from there. The Mariners have a young and talented major league roster, especially on the pitching side. At the top of their farm system sits another wave of talent ready to contribute to their next playoff run. Their window looks to be wide open with no sign of closing anytime soon.
3: Detroit Tigers (High rank of 1/Low of 17, 2 first place votes)
Top hitters: OF Max Clark, IF Kevin McGonigle, C Josue Briceno, SS Bryce Rainer, 2B Max Anderson, IF Hao-Yu Lee
Top pitchers: RHP Jaden Hamm, RHP Troy Melton, RHP Ty Madden, RHP Kelvis Salcedo, RHP Malachi Witherspoon
Others to watch: C Eduardo Valencia, 2B Franyerber Montilla, C/1B Thayron Liranzo, OF Cris Rodriguez, SS Jordan Yost
Summary: Copy and paste much of what I wrote about the Pirates above. Insert Tarik Skubal for Skenes and Max Clark, Kevin McGonigle, Josue Briceno and Hao-Yu Lee on the offensive side and you have a very similar situation in Detroit. The difference is that the Tigers have a much better offensive base at the major league level than Pittsburgh does to start from. On the down side they have a shorter time to do it in with Skubal facing free agency after the 2026 season. To quote John Malkovich from Rounders, “pay that man his money”.
2: Los Angeles Dodgers (High rank of 1/Low of 5, 1 first place vote)
Top hitters: OF Josue De Paula, OF Zyhir Hope, OF Eduardo Quintero, OF Ching-Hsien Ko, OF James Tibbs, OF Mike Sirota
Top pitchers: RHP River Ryan, LHP Jackson Ferris, RHP Jose Rodriguez, LHP Zach Root, RHP Peter Heubeck
Others to watch: SS Joendry Vargas, OF Charles Davalan, OF Zach Ehrhard, SS Emil Morales, OF Kendall George, OF Ryan Ward
Summary: As we discussed on the podcast, it is almost unfair that the team that just won back-to-back World Series championships also has a top-5 farm system. The Dodgers can go one of two ways with their stock pile of prospect talent. They can develop and promote or move pieces to supplement their annual pursuit of a world championship. Either way they are the envy of the league right now. Say what you will about their ability to “buy a championship”, but also give them credit for their ability to scout and develop as well.
1: Milwaukee Brewers (High rank of 1/Low of 5, 5 first place votes)
Top hitters: SS Jesus Made, SS Luis Pena, SS Cooper Pratt, C Jeferson Quero, OF Braylon Payne, CI Andrew Fischer
Top pitchers: RHP Logan Henderson, RHP Bishop Letson, LHP Robert Gasser, RHP Coleman Crow, RHP Bryce Meccage, RHP Brett Wichrowski
Sleepers: 3B Luke Adams, 3B Brock Wilken, C Marco Dinges, OF Jose Anderson, OF Brailyn Antunez
Summary: As a Cardinals fan this one hurts more than a little. Not only have they made the playoffs five of the last six seasons, but they also have the number one farm system (according to five contributors). Jackson Chourio, Brice Turang, Sal Frelick, Jacob Misiorowski and curent closer Abner Uribe are all home grown talent. Oh, and the next wave is coming. They are the class of the NL Central right now and if they have it their way that won’t change any time soon.
