2025 End-of-Season Farm System Rankings (30-16)

With the 2025 season officially a wrap it is time to update our farm system rankings. Ten contributors here at Prospects1500 got together and ranked the systems to form our consensus rankings. For more content on these rankings check out episode 133 of Futures Focus.

30: San Diego Padres (High rank of 29/Low of 30)
Top 5 hitters: C Ethan Salas, 3B Kale Fountain, SS Deivid Coronil, SS Jorge Quintana, OF Yonathan Perlaza
Top 5 pitchers: LHP Kash Mayfield, LHP Kruz Schoolcraft, RHP Miguel Mendez, RHP Humberto Cruz, RHP Bradgley Rodriguez
Others to watch: MI Jhoan De La Cruz, MI Jorge Quintana, MI Jose Verdugo

Summary: When you sell at the trade deadline year after year to support the major league squad’s playoff push this will be the result. The system took a serious hit sending Leo De Vries to the Athletics, but there is still some hope. Ethan Salas has seen some of the shine come off his status due to a couple of injury plagued and underwhelming seasons, but the tools that made him a top prospect are still there. Southpaws Kash Mayfield and Kruz Schoolcraft are young but they have the stuff to make an impact.

29: Los Angeles Angels (High rank of 25/Low of 30)
Top hitters: OF Nelson Rada, SS Joswa Lugo, C Gabriel Davalillo, SS Denzer Guzman, OF Hayden Alvarez
Top pitchers: RHP Tyler Bremner, RHP Ryan Johnson, RHP Caden Dana, RHP George Klassen, RHP Trey Gregory-Alford
Others to watch: SS Yilver De Paula, OF Raudi Rodriguez, LHP Johnny Slawinski

Summary: This ranking is largely due to a combination of Christian Moore graduating and Caden Dana taking a significant step back this season. The Angels have a lot riding on Tyler Bremner especially since they took him number two overall. The Angles have a recent history of pushing draftees to the majors quickly. This year, that was Ryan Johnson and he looks to be an important part of their future.

28: Atlanta Braves (High rank of 19/Low of 29)
Top hitters: SS Tate Southisene, SS Alex Lodise, OF Diego Tornes, OF Patrick Clohisy, SS/3B Jose Perdomo
Top pitchers: LHP Cam Caminiti, RHP Owen Murphy, RHP JR Ritchie, RHP Luke Sinnard, RHP Didier Fuentes
Others to watch: LHP Briggs McKenzie, IF/OF Geraldo Quintero, MI John Gil

Summary: This system is defined by their ability to develop pitching. JR Ritchie, Owen Murphy and Didier Fuentes could all factor into the Braves big league plans at some point next season. Their offensive hope rides on largely on two high school middle infielders from their 2025 draft class. Tate Southisene and Alex Lodise are both very young but have a ton of upside. How that 2025 draft class performs will go a long way to deciding their ranking this time next year.

27: Houston Astros (High rank of 21/Low of 29)
Top hitters: 2B Brice Matthews, OF Jacob Melton, OF Kevin Alvarez, C Walker Janek, 3B Xavier Neyens
Top pitchers: RHP Miguel Ullola, RHP Anderson Brito, RHP Bryce Mayer, RHP Ethan Pecko, RHP Alonzo Tredwell
Others to watch: OF Joseph Sullivan, RHP Alimber Santa, OF Ethan Frey

Summary: This ranking is likely about the shear lack of depth in the system which could be exposed next year as Brice Matthews, Troy Melton and Miguel Ullola are all likely to graduate. Joseph Sullivan has been a really nice surprise and could be a top-5 prospect in this system soon. How Kevin Alvarez and Xavier Neyens develop will likely dictate the future of this system. @DET_Guru_Kurt thinks that Bryce Mayer is a diamond to keep an eye on and could contribute at the major league level next season.

26: Kansas City Royals (High rank of 22/Low of 29)
Top hitters: C Carter Jensen, C Blake Mitchell, 3B Josh Hammond, OF Sean Gamble, OF Carson Roccaforte
Top pitchers: RHP Kendry Chourio, LHP David Shields, RHP Ben Kudrna, RHP Drew Beam, RHP Luinder Avila
Others to watch: C Ramon Ramirez, OF Asbel Gonzalez, MI Yandel Ricardo

Summary: The graduation of Jac Caglianone and Noah Cameron delt a blow to the top of this system. Carter Jensen had a nice debut at the end of the season and looks to be the heir apparent at the catching position. If Kendry Chourio continues his breakout and Blake Mitchell can bounce back after an injury filled 2025, the top of this system could look stronger this time next year.

25: Washington Nationals (High rank of 18/Low of 28)
Top hitters: SS Eli Willits, SS Seaver King, MI Luke Dickerson, OF Ethan Petry, C Caleb Lomavita
Top pitchers: RHP Travis Sykora, RHP Jarlin Susana, LHP Alex Clemmey, LHP Jake Bennett, RHP Sean Paul Liñan
Others to watch: RHP Yoel Tejeda Jr., RHP Eriq Swan, MI Marconi German

Summary: Top prospects Dylan Crews and Brady House have graduated and Daylen Lile also came up and made a significant impact in his own right. The Nationals have built quite the young core but are going to need some help on the mound. The question is whether that help will come from inside or outside the organization? The talent is there with Jarlin Susana and Travis Sykora. However, there is bullpen risk with Susana and TJ surgery will knock Sykora out for all of 2026.

24: Colorado Rockies (High rank of 21/Low of 29)
Top hitters: 1B Charlie Condon, SS Ethan Holliday, OF Cole Carrigg, OF Robert Calaz, OF Jared Thomas,
Top pitchers: RHP Brody Brecht, LHP Griffin Herring, RHP JB Middleton, LHP Sean Sullivan, LHP Carson Palmquist
Others to watch: OF Zac Veen, OF Max Belyeu, OF Sterlin Thompson

Summary: Charlie Condon had a nice bounce back year and the drafting of Ethan Holliday gives Colorado a really nice top-2. The upper levels of their minor leagues are stocked with outfielders and finding playing time for all of them will be a real challenge. From a dynasty standpoint Rockies pitchers are risky and can be tough to roster but Griffin Herring’s arsenal might just be the one to break the mold.

23: New York Yankees (High rank of 12/Low of 26)
Top hitters: SS George Lombard Jr., SS Dax Kilby, OF Spencer Jones, SS Roderick Arias, OF Dillon Lewis
Top pitchers: RHP Elmer Rodriguez-Cruz, RHP Bryce Cunningham, RHP Carlos Lagrange, RHP Ben Hess, LHP Henry Lalane
Others to watch: LHP Kyle Carr, LHP Brock Selvidge, RHP Chase Hampton

Summary: The Yankees have had rather underwhelming results lately with their top prospects debuts. Spencer Jones, Elmer Rodriguez-Cruz and Carlos Lagrange look to be the next group up and hope to reverse that trend. Dillon Lewis has an intriguing set of tools and will be one to watch next year at Double-A Somerset.

22: Texas Rangers (High rank of 11/Low of 27)
Top hitters: SS Sebastian Walcott, SS Gavin Fien, OF Elorky Rodriguez, SS Yolfran Castillo, OF Paulino Santana
Top pitchers: RHP Winston Santos, RHP David Davalillo, RHP Caden Scarborough, RHP Jose Corniell, RHP Alejandro Rosario
Others to watch: RHP AJ Russell, OF Yeremy Cabrera, 1B Abimelec Ortiz

Summary: Sebastian Walcott has the makings of a superstar and if he gets off to a hot start there is a chance we see him in Arlington next year. Winston Santos is close but likely needs more innings coming of injury and Alejandro Rosario did not pitch at all in 2025 due to injury. Caden Scarborough is young but has the stuff to be an impact arm for the Rangers.

21: Chicago Cubs (High rank of 14/Low of 25)
Top hitters:  C Moises Ballesteros, OF Owen Caissie, SS Jefferson Rojas, 1B Jonathon Long, IF James Triantos
Top pitchers: RHP Jaxon Wiggins, RHP Dominick Reid, RHP Brandon Birdsell, RHP Jostin Florentino, RHP Will Sanders
Others to watch: OF Ethan Conrad, SS Cristian Hernández, OF Kevin Alcántara

Summary: The Cubs have a lot of high end talent that is already starting to emerge with Owen Caissie, Moises Ballesteros and Kevin Alcántara all having time in the majors already. Then they have another level of players ready to break the barrier with talent at key positions throughout all the levels. @stoffer81

20: San Francisco Giants (High rank of 16/Low of 28)
Top hitters: 1B Bryce Eldridge, SS Josuar Gonzalez, OF Bo Davidson, SS Jhonny Level, OF Drew Gilbert
Top pitchers: LHP Carson Whisenhunt, RHP Argenis Cayama, LHP Jacob Bresnahan, RHP Keyner Martinez, LHP Joe Whitman
Others to watch: OF Dakota Jordan, 2B Gavin Kilen, OF Rayner Arias

Summary: @MKelley_ND called the Giants system “sneaky good” thanks to six to eight guys right off the bat that are solid prospects. Bryce Eldridge looks to break camp with the Giants and gives them a legitimate power source. Bo Davidson had a breakout 2025 season and Drew Gilbert was a nice trade deadline acquisition.

19: Philadelphia Phillies (High rank of 12/Low of 25)
Top hitters: OF Justin Crawford, SS Aidan Miller, 2B Aroon Escobar, OF Dante Nori, OF Griffin Burkholder
Top pitchers: RHP Andrew Painter, RHP Gage Wood, RHP Moisés Chace, RHP Matthew Fisher, RHP Jean Cabrera
Others to watch: OF Gabriel Rincones Jr., OF Dylan Campbell, LHP Cade Obermueller, RHP Cody Bowker

Summary: After they graduate their top tier guys, the Phillies will look to build around their pitching as they drafted college pitchers with the first five picks of their 2025 draft. They also have gems coming in Griffin Burkholder and Gabriel Rincones Jr. @stoffer81

18: Toronto Blue Jays (High rank of 13/Low of 23)
Top hitters: SS Arjun Nimmala, SS JoJo Parker, OF Yohendrick Pinango, OF RJ Schreck, SS Josh Kasevich
Top pitchers: RHP Trey Yesavage, LHP Johnny King, RHP Gage Stanifer, LHP Ricky Tiedemann, RHP Austin Cates
Others to watch: OF Charles McAdoo, SS Eddinson Paulino, OF Jake Cook

Summary: What a story Trey Yesavage was. He started out the year in Single-A and finished with 3 wins in the playoffs with the Jays. Ricky Tiedemann and Gage Stanifer might join him at the major league level soon. Shortstops Arjun Nimmala and JoJo Parker are tooled up and could both be impact players if they develop.

17: Arizona Diamondbacks (High rank of 11/Low of 21)
Top hitters: OF Ryan Waldschmidt, OF Slade Caldwell, SS Kayson Cunningham, 2B Demetrio Crisantes, 2B Tommy Troy
Top pitchers: LHP Kohl Drake, RHP Daniel Eagen, RHP Patrick Forbes, RHP Ashton Izzi, LHP Yu-Min Lin
Others to watch: 3B LuJames Groover, MI JD Dix, SS Jansel Luis

Summary: The strength of the D-Backs system can be attributed to a strong 2024 draft class with the likes of Slade Caldwell, Ryan Waldschmidt, JD Dix and Daniel Eagen all coming out of that class. There have been rumors that Arizona could look to move Ketel Marte in the offseason. If they do look for Tommy Troy to slide in at 2B. Kohl Drake, who was acquired from Texas at the deadline, could also see the majors in 2026.

16: Cincinnati Reds (High rank of 13/Low of 23)
Top hitters: 3B Sal Stewart, C Alfredo Duno, SS Tyson Lewis, 3B Cam Collier, SS Steele Hall
Top pitchers: RHP Chase Burns, RHP Rhett Lowder, RHP Chase Petty, RHP Aaron Watson, RHP Ty Floyd
Others to watch: OF Héctor Rodríguez, SS Edwin Arroyo, OF Mason Neville, RHP/3B Sheng-En Lin

Summary: Sal Stewart and Chase Burns have already made their impact on the major league squad and look to be building blocks for the future. Tyson Lewis and Alfredo Duno look to lead the next wave of hitters. Recent high school draftee Aaron Watson has the stuff to be an impact arm and the Reds have had recent success developing their pitchers.
