Prospects1500 is officially expanding our coverage on the amateur side of baseball to include weekly NCAA Division I Top 25 ranks. The rankers consist of Shaun Kernahan (@ShaunKernahan), Kurt Moody (@DET_Guru_Kurt), and Michael Kelley (@MKelley_ND).
While Texas A&M would have been our consensus number one coming into the year, they had an abysmal week-plus, losing four in a row before the bats came alive to end the weekend against Rice. Add to that the fact they lost a heart of the lineup bat in Gavin Grahovac, and likely would have ended up unranked if not for their performance on Sunday.
At this point it is really hard to argue for anyone other than Tennessee at the top of the ranks, as they have outscored their opponents 128-22 on the season, for an average margin of victory greater than 9.5 runs.
The ACC and SEC appear to be dominant forces yet again, with 10 of our top 11 and 20 of our top 25 coming from those two conferences.
