Since the completion of our Preseason Top 50 lists, I went through and picked out some players that I have ranked either higher or lower. I’m not saying trade these players low, but if there’s a good opportunity to get equal or greater value, it may be something to consider. If there are any players that should be on either of these lists, let me know in the comments.

Players I Rank Lower

Ethan Salas, C, SD – Rank on team’s Top 50 – 2
Look, I get it. The kid’s talented but he’s also just 18 years old and plays a position where he has to develop both on offense and behind the plate handling a pitching staff. Catchers historically take more time to climb through the minor leagues and a lot can happen from now until he’s ready for the major leagues. Sell high now on his name and potential.

Chase Dollander, RHP, COL – Rank on team’s Top 50 – 1
Dollander has put up very impressive numbers for Colorado’s minor league teams, but the key word is Colorado. As talented as he is, I’m still nervous about putting too much stock into any Rockies pitcher.

Jeferson Quero, C, MIL – Rank on team’s Top 50 – 1
Most of Quero’s helium comes from his defense and arm. His hitting looks about average and could be replaced by any number of catchers on the waiver wire. Sell while his name value can still bring a useful asset.

Jacob Wilson, SS, A’s – Rank on team’s Top 50 – 2
Wilson has a great approach at the plate, hitting over .400 in over 300 at bats across two minor league seasons. However, he has very little speed or power which limits his upside for fantasy purposes. He’s expected to start for the A’s this season which is a plus for those is need of batting average, but little else.

Any MI, 2B/SS, CLE – Rank on team’s Top 50 – 1 – 50
Cleveland always has middle infielders that are ranked pretty high and they always seem to have the same toolset – good hit, low average, moderate speed. I got burned enough by Brayan Rocchio, Gabriel Arias, Aaron Bracho, Tyler Freeman, Joey Wendle, and Cord Phelps, to take a shot on Travis Bazzana, even though he’s different than them. I’m stubborn.

Players I Rank Higher

Emil Morales, SS, LAD – Rank on team’s Top 50 – 7
Morales was a high profile signing from the 2024 international class and he performed amazingly in the DSL with a slash line of .342/.478/.691 with 14 home runs and 12 stolen bases. He lived up to the hype and is in an organization known for developing their prospects well. While he may have to move away from shortstop as he continues to grow, his bat will play anywhere.

Druw Jones, OF, ARI – Rank on team’s Top 50 – 10
The outfielder’s struggles in the minors have been well-known but he has battled many injuries, never seeing over 175 at bats in a season until last year, where he hit 6 home runs with a .409 OBP. He also stole 21 bases. I’m curious what he can do when he’s fully healthy over a whole year.

Yordany De Los Santos, SS, PIT – Rank on team’s Top 50 – 18
A 2022 international signee, De Los Santos has put up solid numbers during his three years with the organization. He struggles when he has been called up to the next level, but once he gets comfortable, he produces. He has great speed and a good approach at the plate. If he can develop some power as he matures, he can be a solid asset for your fantasy team.

Jordan Dissin, C, PHI – Rank on team’s Top 50 – 36
Dissin struggled initially at High-A but turned it on once the calendar turned to June. He’s ready defensively to contribute to the major league team and another solid year at the plate in 2025 could have him on a path for the major leagues soon.

Eduardo Beltre, OF, MIN – Rank on team’s Top 50 – 21
I know Rookie league stats can be inflated, but when a 17-year-old with this kid’s tools slashes .326/.453/.618, I am going to take notice. Beltre also hit 11 home runs and stole 11 bases in 43 games. He’s a player I’m trying to get shares of in my dynasty leagues.

William Bergolla, SS, CWS – Rank on team’s Top 50 – 26
Bergolla has little power right now but he’s only 20 years old and has a great approach at the plate. Over 573 at bats, he has 58 strikeouts to 70 walks, showing a great eye. Combine that with his speed and we’re looking at a solid future leadoff hitter for an improving White Sox team.
