As we did last summer, there are five updated Top 50s dropping at once, and these columns are being released by division. Our fourth installment features new midseason ranks from all of the AL East farm systems. Our Top 50 ranks are now collaborations of several writers on staff including Tony Bps (@tonybps1), Greg Bracken (@gregbracken07), Pat Doherty, Jr. (@TheRealNaClown), Clint Fasse (Prospect Larceny), Scott Greene (@Scotty_Ballgame), and Jeremy Mahy (@JMahyfam). Adam Greene (@aj_greene1015) also assisted in ranking the Red Sox and Paul Woodin (@PaulWoodin1) assisted with the Yankees.
Players are prospect eligible and can be ranked if they have less than 130 AB or less than 50 IP in the majors. We use these limits as most dynasty leagues have the same thresholds for prospects and minor league status.
We still have each Top 50 list ranked in our Prospects1500 Tiers:
Tier 1: Players with high expectations of both making the majors and playing at an All-Star level for a number of years
Tier 2: Players with an above-average expectation of making the majors and being a solid contributor
Tier 3: Players with an average expectation of making the majors and being a solid contributor
Tier 4: Players who have the potential to make the majors; possible sleeper candidates for sustained MLB success
Tier 5: Players of interest, worth keeping an eye on, who may make (or have made) the majors but provide minimal impact
