Scott Greene (President)

In general I’m a fantasy baseball freak and lover of all things Major and Minor League Baseball.  Creating something like Prospects1500 has been an idea of mine for a couple years now.

I developed the Diamond Duos dynasty concept and league and currently Commish four of them.

  • Launched Diamond Duos for the 2013 season and we’re now heading into of our 5th season.
  • Launched Diamond Duos II in 2015 and we’re moving into our 3rd season.
  • Diamond Duos III launched this past year for 2016 and the group is stoked for 2017 and season #2.
  • Diamond Duos IV recently launched and 2017 is our inaugural season.
  • Diamond Duos V?  Tentatively planned to launch for 2018.  Things will probably get going in Fall 2017 and I’m always looking for new owners!

Aside from Diamond Duos, I’ve been Co-Commish in a 10-team money league going back to 2000 with some buddies and old colleagues of mine. It’s a very unique setup as we do BOTH Roto and H2H. The pot is split 50/50 so the Top 3 Roto finishers get a portion of the pot (in addition to the best Roto performance each week), and then the H2H winner and runner-up get a portion of the other half. We have transaction fees as well (for pick ups and trades) so the pot gets up there. We have a 32-man roster and are allowed to keep up to 12 players each year, with contracts based on round drafted or month picked up during the season. Traditional snake draft format with keepers slotted into specific rounds.

A college buddy of mine and I co-manage a team in the 16-team Roto keeper league Sandlot Immortals. That’s a big money league too, but with an auction format and $260 pre-season cap and $300 in-season cap.

On the free, for-fun side of things I’m in and also run several Yahoo leagues of all different formats. Plus I’ve been in a great 30-team dynasty league called Walk Off Dynasty that is one of the most detailed fantasy leagues I’ve ever been in and most closely mirrors how MLB is run.  There are a couple Home Run pools I partake in.  I tried Futures Fantasy Baseball this past season. (all MiLB!) Oh, and I run the annual MLB Fantasy Baseball Playoffs Parlay, which had over 100 teams this past October.  It just seems to never end with my fantasy baseball.

I wrote for Dynasty Sports Empire briefly back in 2014.  Did some articles on Red Sox and MiLB top prospects as well as some reaction pieces to some big trades that happened.  Now with Prospects1500 I have the opportunity to contribute on my very own platform.

I live in Western Massachusetts (Longmeadow) and grew up outside Boston in Burlington, MA.  I attended Syracuse University for my undergrad.  Married for 15 years and have 2 boys (13 and almost 10).  I’m an Account Manager for Reminder Publications and Envision Marketing Group in East Longmeadow, MA.  I’m a partial Red Sox season ticket holder (attend 7-8 games a year and was honored to be at Big Papi’s last game – my first ever playoff game this past October) and will also attend several Hartford Yard Goats games (Rockies AA affiliate) as they finally move into their new home Dunkin’ Donut Park this April.  I wouldn’t be giving you the full story if I also didn’t mention that I’ve been collecting baseball cards since 1978 and have a collection of thousands, AND I’m also a lover of pro wrestling and will be attending (with my son) my very first Wrestlemania this April in Orlando!

President of Prospects1500. Founder of Diamond Duos dynasty fantasy baseball leagues and the MLB Fantasy Playoffs Parlay. Participant and champion in several dynasty/fantasy baseball and football leagues. Sales Manager for Reminder Publishing in real life. Huge Bruce Springsteen and pro wrestling fan. Along with his wife and two boys, lives in Longmeadow, MA. Follow on Twitter at @Scotty_Ballgame.

  1. Good luck with your site. Was referenced here from Fantasyrundown today. Looking forward to the remaining Top 50 lists. Am in a 12 team dynasty league ($260 auction /$340 final) with a five round minor league draft and 15 minor league spots.

  2. Loving the idea here and the site. A couple of questions:
    1. What is Diamond Duos? Is there a site that I could check out to learn more?
    2. Is there a plan to put the team listing into some sort of a database? It would be awesome to be able to get all 1500 in one spreadsheet with Tier, DOB and comments.
Thanks again for your (and everyone else’s) work here!

    • MPhilly03, thanks for the questions. Brian commented on how we might share all 1500 once the lists are done. Stay tuned.

As for your other question, I developed the Diamond Duos dynasty concept and original league back in early 2013 and currently Commish four of them. I was interested in starting a 30-team dynasty league, each with a different MLB team to begin with, but knowing how difficult it is to get, and then retain, 30 good and active owners I came up with the idea for 15 teams. In Diamond Duos each owner selects 2 MLB franchises (1 AL and 1 NL) to begin with and we still have all 30 team covered. DD1-DD3 have 40 man MLB rosters and up to 60 MiLB rosters. DD4 has 40-man MLB and up to 100 MiLB per team. If you’re interested in seeing what Diamond Duos is all about, feel free to check out our DD3 ProBoards forum. You can see League Constitution, team rosters, how free agent signings work, drafts, etc.

      • I could be interested in joining DDV. I currently am co-commissioner in a 20 team dynasty league with 24 active and 14 reserve roster spots plus 42 minor leaguers. DDV sounds intense and I would love to discuss particulars.

        • Hi JC. There’s not going to be a DDV, at least not for 2018. But… I do have one, possibly two openings in DD IV. Let me know if you’re interested and I can email some info, links, etc.

      • Hey. I’m definitely interested in joining DDV. Just wondering how to go about signing up and stuff. Been reading through all the threads on most of the DD pages.

  3. I’ll leave it to Scott to answer the question regarding Diamond Duos.

As for the database…I am adding all the lists to an Excel spreadsheet as they are posted. Scott and I will discuss how we may share that with our audience.

  4. I have really enjoyed the team by team look and the unique insights provided. Is there any update on the database with the 1500 prospects listed in one spot? Also, will there be any effort for you guys to create a top 100 for the site? Thanks and keep up the good work!

    • Thanks for keeping us on our toes. Brian and I are compiling all of the staff’s Top 50s. We will have some sort of complete 1500 list done soon. We will also be releasing our Prospects1500 Overall Top 150 (or so). Thanks for reading and we appreciate your patience.

  5. Hey Scott,

Love the site. Great info. Have swapped messages with a couple of your team beat writers and they’ve been very helpful. Was just curious if all the guys on the “Staff” page are still active. Looks like some haven’t been messaging since 2016. I enjoy talking to these guys about their specific teams, and prospects.

    thanks,

    jeff
