Jake Berry (Braves)

Hello baseball fans, my name is Jake Berry and I am proud to be covering the Atlanta Braves and their farm system for Prospects1500.

I was born and raised just minutes away from a minor league ballpark where I spent much of my childhood attending games of the hometown Chattanooga Lookouts. When we weren’t cheering on the Lookouts, my parents and I were traveling the southeastern United States trying to visit as many minor league ballparks as we could. Even as a kid, I was fascinated by all the ballplayers from such different backgrounds playing in vastly unique cities around the country. I understood that each one had their own journey unlike any other. That is where my passion for the minor leagues and prospects began.

My writing career stemmed from an attempt to combine the two things I loved most about baseball; prospects and sabermetrics. There are plenty of great places on the internet to read about either or, but I found there to be a disconnect between the minor leagues and the analytical side of the game. Since then, my writing has taken many different turns, but the one constant has always been the focus on prospects.

I attended the University of West Georgia where I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Management. After graduating from UWG, I was fortunate enough to land a job with the University and I still reside in the beautiful city of Carrollton, Georgia to this day.

When I am not writing, I am either planning trips to new minor league parks, collecting baseball cards, or most importantly, playing fantasy baseball.

I reside in Carrollton, Georgia and love everything baseball. I graduated from the University of West Georgia with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Management. I have a passion for the minor leagues and have high hopes of visiting as many minor league parks as I can. I enjoy the statistical side of the game, especially sabermetrics. I am also an avid baseball card collector and fantasy baseball player.
